About Me

I’m a complicated combination of traditional and contemporary ideals which creates a lot of chaos now and again. I have three children that I love more than life and whom I owe everything to.

I work daily to be a better person. I was raised by loving Atheist/Buddhist parents and I am a closet Catholic. I think my parents were right, but I love the magic of Mass on Sunday.

I grow far too many vegetables every year and would rather have more canning jars than diamonds. My pantry kicks ass as a result.

I tried to find love… and found a whole lot of good writing material, instead. I dabble in internet dating on occasion, purely for the stories and solid reminder that I should treasure my single life.

I’m a lot nicer than I used to be,  but I also don’t take nearly as much shit as I used to.

I’d like to think I’ve learned what’s important and what isn’t, while growing into one hell of a woman.

    • I’m all sorts of flattered- I’ve never seen a man use the F word so effectively… and this… from your blog today:

Me, I’ll have the Cesar salad, with the loaded baked potato, sauteed onions with mushrooms and the filet mignon please.I’ll also wash it all down with 3 or 4 pints of Stella and don’t you dare say one fucking word about it’s nutritional value or I’ll stab you with my fork!

I’m in new blog heaven- thank you 🙂

Well I’m glad you liked it. I’ve been receiving some not so choice comments about my blog lately so it’s nice to see a fresh face and personality enjoying it.

I am just writing to let you know of the amazing experience our child had reading yuor web blog. She learned a good number of pieces, with the inclusion of what it’s like to possess an ideal giving style to let men and women completely have an understanding of various hard to do issues. You really surpassed readers’ expected results. Thank you for churning out those helpful, healthy, informative as well as cool tips on that topic to Sandra.

    • God help you if you let your child read my blog. Oh my.

I suppose we all need a reason to support the psychiatrist… but damn. Way to facilitate.

I am really impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your weblog.
Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself?
Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one nowadays..

I’m intrigued by “closet catholic.” My earliest church memory imprinted on my 4 year old brain was a catholic church in Washington DC. But I found that religion much too restrictive, especially in my rebellious 20s. In my searching 30s, someone said I might like the episcopal church. And he was right. The liturgy feels catholic, but the theology is much more open.
I love the name of your blog. Thanks for the follow!

as an 80 year old woman whose life has been a roller coaster at times… I tell you.. when you want to do things and wonder if you should.. ask yourself.. WHY NOT.. as long as it is legal.. and will bring you and your children happiness.. go for it.. even if it is a little $$ tight to start off.. but ALWAYS be true to the person who you see in the mirror. too many times I thought I don’t know if that would have worked.. way too many times and missed out..
